MARINE PILE NURSERIES

Marine pile nurseries,

the solution to enhance marine biodiversity around existing structures.

THE CHALLENGE

New or upgraded marine structures are great for public amenity, but don't necessarily contribute to the growth of fish populations or biodiversity.

OUR SOLUTION

We've established low-maintenance durable marine nurseries made of steel mesh, placed at the base of marine structures, enhancing biodiversity by offering sustenance and shelter to juvenile fish and seahorses. These nurseries bolster ecosystem health, aid in habitat conservation, and are closely monitored by marine ecologists.

SeaO2 Marine Pile Nurseries are versatile and can be effortlessly installed during or after construction.

RESULTS SO FAR

In 6 months, marine nurseries enriched habitats, adding complexity to the new sea pool before full colonisation.

There were 20 different species and a total of 481 fish recorded at a recently upgraded swimming enclosure in Sydney Harbour.
