    From competitive rowing to kayaking the Bass Strait, Peter has always been at home on the water. As founder and Managing director of SMC Marine, Australia’s leading marine engineering and construction company, Peter and his company have created some of the most iconic wharves, jetties and marina’s along Australia’s coastline.

    Peter’s passion for building sustainable marine infrastructure that protects and restores ecosystems led him to co-found SeaO2 with long-time friend, Gian Minns. At SeaO2, Peter is empowering his team to make a difference by developing sustainable innovations to regenerate marine ecosystems.

    Gian grew up living on the side of a river. Being in or around water continues to be the constant in his life.

    Gian is a seasoned technologist and strategic business leader. He started out as a product engineer, creating internationally-awarded and patented work, before transitioning through management consulting to grow and leading several internet businesses, including start-ups and global companies from Australia and overseas.

    Passionate about the marine environment, on returning to Australia, Gian joined forces with Peter to start SeaO2 and improve the environmental outcomes of marine projects. Gian is also a director of several companies in the construction and manufacturing industries.

    Johan is passionate about the oceans and engineering sustainable solutions to meet extreme challenges – from designing the world’s fastest-sailing yachts to achieving record-breaking dive depths. With his deep technical expertise and passion for protecting our oceans, Johan develops bespoke, innovative solutions to suit the complex and diverse marine environment.

    An avid diver, ocean swimmer and adventurer, Annie is always looking for ways to combine her love of nature with positive impact.

    She is passionate about sustainability and innovation, and brings a unique global perspective, having worked in four different countries across several industries, including infrastructure and tourism.

    Her purpose is to accelerate the shift towards sustainable consumption and production patterns, and design regenerative business models to achieve net zero by working at the intersection of the government, business and finance sectors. Annie is a director on the board of Tourism Tasmania, and a director of creative agency, All Good Collective.

    Honor grew up on the waters of Sydney’s Middle Harbour and attended a Steiner school where emphasis was placed on wholism, nature, the cycles and seasons of the world, and how impactful individuals can be co-existing within these environments respectfully.

    This sparked Honor’s passion for sustainability and global health from a young age, where she graduated as a qualified nutritionist, gaining a health science degree, and becoming an international science and health journalist for Australia wide and global media outlets. Her drive has always been to share the latest breakthrough discoveries using a holistic slant, on how the foods we chose not only impact human health or disease, but animal, marine and planetary.

    Growing up, Manuel enjoyed family trips to the beach and one of his earliest memories is playing in the “huge” waves of the Atlantic Ocean with 
his dad.

    After graduating as a civil engineer, he travelled the world scuba diving wherever he could, fascinated by the magical marine environment. Manuel has over 15 years’ experience planning and delivering large scale marine infrastructure projects within multidisciplinary teams around Europe, Africa, New Zealand and Australia. He has a proven track record in providing innovative sustainable solutions considering the needs of all stakeholders, including nature. He also enjoys contributing to building a better future through Engineers without Borders.

    Clive is a respected marine biologist, researcher and consultant with a passion for sustainable commercial aquaculture, and his research has been extensively published and cited. Clive also has experience in operations and general management, having led large-scale commercial aquaculture businesses.

    With a lifelong enthusiasm for seaweed, Clive understands its environmental benefits, as well as its commercial potential. He enjoys long walks foraging seaweed washed up on the beach.

    Nick grew up swimming, fishing, snorkelling and surfing at Cronulla beach with his two older brothers. Nowadays he shares his love of the ocean with his wife, children and dog.

    He is passionate about restoring marine habitats and sees immense opportunities to integrate marine sensitive features into the design, delivery and operation of infrastructure.

    Nick has over 20 years experience working on the development and delivery of major transport projects in Sydney. He is focussed on meaningful environmental outcomes and building trusting relationships with stakeholders.
